YOUR ROLE
Assist with processing of export shipments for an assigned base of
accounts. Assist with duties related to document preparation and
traffic coordination required to correctly process export shipments
in a cost-efficient manner and within established standards. Models
and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core
values.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO
Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and
external customers.
Receive, review and process export documentation for an assigned
base of accounts.
Process and follow Shipper's Letter of Instructions accurately.
Prepare and process bills, insurance certificates, Certificates of
Origin, Consular Documents, Shipper's Export Declarations and
Customs Invoices.
Process documents through the appropriate system in a timely manner
to ensure compliance with established deadlines.
Prepare and/or send advance notification of shipments and documents
to banks, shippers, consignees and destination offices, as required
and within established standards.
Arrange, book and confirm cargo space on flights.
Close files and distribute documents in accordance with Shippers
Letter of Instruction and in compliance with export standards.
Inform supervisor of any problems or irregularities discovered
within assigned transactions.
Provide excellent and timely customer service by informing clients
of the status of their shipments.
Actively pursue a better understanding of the export process
through independent study, as well as courses and seminars
presented by the Company and other approved sources.
Improve understanding and knowledge of appropriate export system,
in both its basic and advanced features; and receive certification
of competency in these applications.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
PC literate. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet,
web-based and job specific software applications.
Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills.
Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with
multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
Ability to read, comprehend and write basic correspondence.
Effectively present information one-on-one or in small group
situations.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Balances team and individual responsibilities.
Consistently at work and on time.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED.
Less than one year related experience.
Professional certification may be required in some areas.
Preferred:
Associates Degree.
