Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Tech Specialty: Vascular Institute Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 1 Year Preferred License: Required Certifications: ARRT Radiography or CV, Basic Life Support or BLS Instructor Must-Have: Competency in all aspects of diagnostic radiology procedures Description: Functions under the direction of the clinical coordinator and/or department manager. The interventional special procedures technologist assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to the patient by performing all exams provided by the department according to department procedures. The technologist has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study. Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of the equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. The technologist is able to independently perform job functions. Sets up the equipment to provide imaging service and positions the patient for the procedure. Able to perform procedures in both the IR and vascular hybrid interventional procedural setting. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Must have an understanding of anatomy and pathology as to how they affect the quality of a procedure. The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written language and display a positive attitude. Able to function independently during procedures after appropriate orientation/competency on unit and as demonstrated by being placed on call rotation. Shift: Mon-Fri 7:00 am-5:30 pm. On-call coverage nights, weekends, holidays.
