Job Title: Interventional Special Procedures Technologist

weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: Monday to Friday 7 a.m. - 5:30
p.m. Experience: 1 year preferred License: ARRT Radiography or CV
(Cath Lab/Int IF RCIS-Cert) Certifications: Basic Life Support or
BLS - Instructor Must-Have: Competency in diagnostic radiology
procedures, understanding of anatomy and pathology, English
proficiency Description: Functions under the direction of the
clinical coordinator and/or department manager. The interventional
special procedures technologist assists with providing safe,
age-appropriate care to the patient by performing all exams
provided by the department according to department procedures. The
technologist has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely
obtain a quality diagnostic study. Responsible for performing a
wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent
judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of the
equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. The
technologist is able to independently perform job functions. Sets
up the equipment to provide imaging service and positions the
patient for the procedure. Able to perform procedures in both the
IR and vascular hybrid interventional procedural settings. Core
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Performs other duties as
assigned. Complies with all policies, standards of work, and code
of conduct. Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved
School of Radiology Technology or a certificate or degree-granting
program in a health science, or a post-secondary educational
program in a health science. Required Minimum Skills: Competency in
all aspects of diagnostic radiology procedures, patient
positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection. Must have
an understanding of anatomy and pathology as to how they affect the
quality of a procedure. The individual must be able to communicate
and understand verbal and written English language and display a
positive attitude. Able to function independently during procedures
after appropriate orientation/competency on unit and as
demonstrated by being placed on call rotation. Additional
Information: On-call coverage for nights, weekends, and
holidays.
