The Sr. Customer Project / Program Manager - Procurement focuses on managing the asset life cycle and collaborating with stakeholders throughout the organization to meet operational and financial needs. This role will work with leadership to help determine the optimal life cycle of assets while focusing on procurement, vendor management, deployment, and asset organization. This role will be responsible for fleet procurement for all Cox divisions and fleet related assets. The position will support all divisions under the Cox umbrella of businesses and will require a consultative approach, excellent customer service and strong vendor management. The Sr. Customer Project/Program Manager - Procurement is a Cox Automotive (CAI) corporate based role which will support a fleet department managing over 19,000 assets and a top 15 ranked private fleet in the country. Additional responsibilities will include supporting enterprise-wide customer accounts and delivering strong customer service.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business plans that meet the operational and financial objectives of internal division customers and grow the overall strategy of the department.
  • Manage senior level vendor, customer, and internal relationships to ensure results by managing action plans for performance and integration.
  • Manage team KPIs and performance to execute department goals and customer commitments.
  • Serves as liaison to other department support functions to enable progress, optimize execution and provide high level customer support.
  • Maintain, update and document regulatory processes and requirements.
  • Manage and maintain fleet programs and special projects.
  • Vehicle design and selection includes assisting in technical specification selection and aftermarket equipment design. Must keep vehicles and drivers in compliance while allowing them to meet the operational demands of their job while also meeting company, state and federal requirements surrounding sustainability.
  • Support implementation of new vehicles into the fleet.
  • Partner and maintain relationships with manufactures and distributors to ensure contractor terms and conditions are met and maintained.
  • Work with manufacturers on root cause analysis to prevent future component failures.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations that impact vehicle compliance and warranty terms.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, up to date information for all company vehicles via Fleet Management systems.
  • Performs a variety of complex, unsupervised tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. (Business Requirements Prioritization; Problem Solving).
  • Work with business partners to provide detailed vehicle information from Fleet Management Systems promoting fleet utilization and reliability.
  • Manage asset life cycle related processes with a focus on procurement, vendor equipment installation and delivery to final location.
  • Issue purchase orders for vehicles and fleet managed equipment for all Cox divisions with typical spend of approximately $75M annually.
  • Manage vendor performance based on timelines, quality, value, and innovation.
  • Consult with stakeholders to provide reporting to maximize visibility to asset status and fiscal impact.
  • Other duties and tasks required by Management. Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years of experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years of experience in a related field
    • Ability to drive results through organization and persistence.
    • Strong people skills and the ability to effectively communicate with peers, business partners, and leadership.
    • Ability to interact with internal and external business partners supporting corporate policy, standards, processes, and procedures.
    • Ability to lead people, set and achieve goals, and manage within defined corporate budgets.
    • Ability to demonstrate a consultative approach to customer needs and interpretate feedback to develop business cases.
    • Proficient in understanding, analysis, and management of vehicle information to provide recommendations.
    • Strong proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office programs, internet-based applications, and Fleet Management Software.
    • Initiative-taking, able to manage expectations, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
    • Knowledge of federal, local, and state laws within region to support compliance of all vehicle related records.
    • Strong customer service and organization skills required.
    • Works well in a team environment by supporting departmental initiatives and goals.
    • Provide excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Must have a valid US state issued driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
    • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks, manual dexterity.
    • Up to 15% travel required. Preferred qualifications include:
      • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years fleet procurement experience preferred.
      • Fleet procurement or asset management experience preferred.
      • EV experience.
      • Vehicle build and specification experience.
      • Vehicle upfit experience.

        USD 77,800.00 - 116,800.00 per year

        Compensation:

        Compensation includes a base salary of $77,800.00 - $116,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
